Let's world build!
So I had a few ideas for things but most of it was linked with Duo's history. We were pretty vague about the city so how did you want to play that, just sort of set it in a random city much like our own world and leave it at that?
From the way we played it I'll say it's obvious that vampires and werewolves and so forth are known to the rest of the world, so everybody knows it's dangerous to go out at night, so I imagine it's a pretty lawless place after the sun goes down.
I can imagine certain parts of the city having, like, vigilante groups who protect normal citizens from anybody who wants to mess with them? and maybe there are certain areas of the city that are mostly for vampires or werewolves, like pack territory.
In terms of how vamps and werewolves work in this world, as you probably guessed I was sort of dropping hints that Duo was a werewolf, and I had some thoughts for how they could work in this setting, so maybe if I work out the wolves and you work out the vamps?

Wufei or perhaps some allusion to the Preventers? >>. I was going for a city divided myself, so I think we should definitely run with that idea.Mm, as for Trowa, true to series, I imagine he wouldn't be affiliated with anyone in particular at this point. (Dare I say, even raised by wolves? lol) But I already have some ideas for vampires, so I can take care of that. I got the implication Duo was a werewolf, so yeah, let me know what you come up with.

Date: 2015-06-18 04:49 pm (UTC)No to turning into bats. No to turning into smoke. No to the mirror thing. I think I like the hypnosis idea though, if it were more along the line of "is this magic or is this bastard just that charismatic?" We can play with it.
As for daylight...I never liked the idea that vampires just burst into flame in sunlight (because realism?) so, I'd imagine it to be more like the world's fastest/worst sun burn/allergy. I'm conflicted on the idea that they could go out in the daytime if they were careful [THOUGHTS?]
Vampire society is going to be as aristocratic and snobby as you'd imagine it to be. I would think bloodlines or purity would have some importance to them. Trowa, of course, is still an orphan bby who doesn't care about any of it in the slightest, so.
Anyways, how is everyone's Thursday going?

Date: 2015-06-19 01:18 am (UTC)But I figure Quatre will probably be human, but a witch. Much to the displeasure of his predictably prestigious high-profile family. Quat's out on his own anyway, running something of a safe haven for people of all species in one of the rougher parts of town, trying to keep it neutral ground. But he'll defend his place and his people if he has to.
So witchcraft in this instance I imagine is a mix of some inherent power and a lot of spells and charms and talismans. That sort of thing. Probably has the greatest effect on regular humans; other critters with magic have varying defenses/levels of resistance, etc.
Anyway yes. This is what I've been thinking.

From:Teen Wolf. Wait, I mean Team Wolf.
Date: 2015-06-19 12:28 pm (UTC)- Have to turn into a wolf on the night of full moon and the two nights either side of it. None of this wolfy-looking man nonsense either, I'm talking full wolf. Slightly larger than ordinary wolves I think they would be because conservation of mass is a thing.
While they are in wolf form it depends on how much control they have as to whether they are aware of themselves, some wolves won't remember anything they do while shifted, others will remember everything but not be able to control themselves, the best will have complete control and memories.
- For around a week before the full moon, their senses get way more alert even in human form, so enhanced smell, hearing and sight. They also get much more energetic, so they get sort of twitchy and need to work off their energy or they get really irritable.
- The rest of the time they're only just ahead of humans, they have slightly sharper senses and are just that tiny bit faster and stronger, but think more peak human performance rather than supernaturally so.
- They do have some wolf-like instincts, regardless of the time of month, so they are pack like and prefer to be around other werewolves most of the time (except loners), and they can be very affectionate and loyal and just a little bit puppy like at times.
- In terms of healing and weaknesses, in wolf form they heal incredibly quickly, and in human form they heal maybe twice as fast as humans but not as instantly (though any injuries they do have will heal up next time a full moon comes around).
However, if the wound is inflicted with silver they will heal around the same rate people do regardless of form, and if a silver bullet happens to stay in their body it will cause them to weaken rapidly and they will eventually die if the silver is not removed, regardless of whether or not the wound is a fatal one.
Physical contact with silver will weaken their abilities and it will cause them discomfort (a bit like an allergy, it's more of a constant itch than pain), but it won't specifically cause injury and the effects go away as soon as the contact is removed. (essentially, the real problems come when the silver gets in contact with their bloodstream).
They're also sensitive to bright lights and extreme smells when in wolf form, as they can overwhelm their senses.
Werewolves can be born (if either parent is a werewolf it can be passed on to the child, it is more likely if the mother is a wolf and almost always if both parents are wolves, but not guaranteed in either case) or they can be bitten, if a werewolf bites someone on the full moon there's around a 50% chance they'll turn, but they won't know for certain until the next full moon.
I thiiiink that's everything.
Oh I was also toying with the idea that wolf blood tastes particularly good to vampires but I'm not sure
Also also there are werewolf full moon dogfighting rings, they have questionable legality and the combatants are sometimes wolves just trying to earn a bit of extra money and sometimes wolves forced or tricked into entering by gangs, vampires or other wolves. They're pretty dangerous because injuries inflicted by other wolves take just a wee bit longer to heal and other werewolves are one of the few things that can kill a wolf.
Duo was born a werewolf but he doesn't know his parents, he has a pack instinct but he's yet to find one he's really fully settled in, so he's moved around between a few.
That all sound good to you guys?
